About Me
My name is Benita Mosca. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Florida and Texas. I grew up in South Africa and moved to the USA in 1998. I have lived in New York, Florida, and now Texas. I am currently located in Arlington, TX, which is in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. I completed my Bachelor of Science in psychology at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). I graduated summa cum laude in 2014. After a brief stint in law school, I decided to continue pursuing my career in mental health. I graduated with my Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida in 2019, and I have been working in a private practice setting since.
I am currently providing online therapy to adolescents and adults. I find that my own life experiences help me relate to my clients’ issues, such as immigration, marriage, divorce, parenting, and trauma. I know that life can be hard and we are constantly trying to overcome various obstacles and challenges. You will find that I am easy-going, warm, and non-judgmental, with a passion for helping others.
I use an integrated approach to therapy including CBT, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, psycho-dynamic, and client-centered therapy. I am also trained in additional models (see below) and I am a certified NARM therapist. I use a trauma-focused approach, as well as a strengths perspective, and a person-in-environment perspective. I would feel honored to be a part of your journey!
I have additional training in the following models
NARM
- NARM is the NeuroAffective Relational Model
- Uses a bottom-up and top-down approach to regulate nervous system
- Used to process early trauma
- Improves capacity for connection to self and others
- Resolves distortions such as low self-esteem, shame, and self-judgment
A.R.T.
- ART is Accelerated Resolution Therapy
- Used for depression, anxiety, phobias and PTSD
- Utilizes back and forth eye movements to desensitize clients to distressing memories and feelings
- Voluntary Image Replacement helps increase positive emotions
- The therapeutic process takes a directive approach, while the content is controlled by the client (client does not have to share traumatic memories with therapist)
EFT (tapping)
- Emotional Freedom Technique
- A holistic way to release unresolved emotional issues
- An evidenced-based form of Energy Psychology
- Can be used during sessions to gently and rapidly reduce symptoms
- Can be used at home or work
